§ Mr. Neil MartenThe Royal Navy destroyer HMS "Glasgow" has been sent to the island, where it has provided medical assistance and helped restore essential public services, including the electricity supply at Castries and Vieux Fort. In addition, the High Commissioner in Barbados has been authorised to spend up to £10,000 on the local purchase of immediate relief supplies. We are ready to consider further immediate help in the light of up-to-date reports on needs.
