HC Deb 06 August 1980 vol 990 c158W
Mr William Hamilton

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress has been made in recruiting additional Inland Revenue inspectors in the last three months.

Mr. Peter Rees

[pursuant to his reply, 30 July 1980, c. 717]: During the three months to 23 July 1980, 14 applicants for posts as Her Majesty's inspectors of taxes have been declared successful by the Civil Service Commission. Two have declined the offer and two have taken up duty. The Inland Revenue expects the remaining successful candidates to take up duty during the next month or two.
