§ Mr. Dubsasked the Attorney-General if he will publish in the Official Report the percentage refusal rates for adult legal aid for each magistrates' court in England and Wales distinguishing between (a)summary trial of indictable offences, (b)summary trial of non-indictable offences and (c) committal proceedings.
The Solicitor-GeneralInformation collected centrally relates to petty sessional divisions and not to individual courts except for the Metropolitan Police District. Numbers of applications for and refusals of legal aid for all criminal and care proceedings are published annually by petty sessional division in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales" (Table 25 of the volume for 1978, Cmnd. 7670). The figures requested could be published in theOfficial Report only at disproportionate cost, but, if the hon. Member desires information on any particular petty sessional division, I shall be pleased to provide it.
