§ Mr. Michael MarshallThe purchasing establishments for which the Department is responsible are well aware of the new initiative the Government have taken in public purchasing and they will follow this. The new initiative, however, is not an indiscriminate 'Buy British' policy; the Government are seeking to improve industry's ability to compete in the international market.
