§ Mr. Cockeramasked the Minister of Transport, in view of the fact that the A41 road south of Backford Cross in Cheshire has been reduced from a four to a two-carriageway road and that this narrowing has lasted nine months while a new motorway bridge was under construction, if he will now see that the contractor is ordered to restore the A41 to its full width at this point.
§ Mr. FowlerThe width of the road has had to be reduced for safety reasons. As soon as the bridge work is sufficiently completed the road will be restored to full width. I hope this will be possible in a few weeks' time. I apologise for any inconvenience.
