§ Sir Bernard Braineasked the Secretary of State for Trade by what date the Health and Safety Executive expects the liquefied gas tankers "Methane Progress" and "Methane Princess" to comply fully with the safety requirements of the International Maritime Consultative Organisation code.
§ Mr. TebbitThe "Methane Progress" and "Methane Princess" are at present under survey for the issue of certificates of fitness in accordance with the nonstatutory recommendations of the IMCO "Code for Existing Ships carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk". Full compliance with the code is recommended for application with effect from 1 November 1982, and appropriate certificates for the vessels in question will be issued on satisfactory completion of surveys.
