Mr. Kendallasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what were the total numbers of staff employed in his Department for each year from 31 December 1973 to 1979, and the numbers for the same periods in each grade within the administration group, excluding those who, during the period in question, became part of the staff of the Ministry of Transport.
§ Mr. HeseltineFollowing are the total numbers of staff employed in my Department on 1 January in each of the years 585W 1974–80, and the total number of administrative, executive and clerical (AEQ employees, including those in posts which are open to both the administrative and professional/specialist grades:
