§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the first investigation into alleged corruption in the police force now referred to as Operation Countryman commenced; when he expects this investigation to be concluded; and whether he will arrange for a report to be issued.
§ Mr. WhitelawOperation Countryman began in August 1978. It is not possible to predict when the investigations will be completed. I have no plans to publish a report.
