§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether all boots and shoes issued to defence personnel are British made.
§ Mr. PattieNo. In the financial year 1979–80, which can be regarded as typical, just under 99 per cent. of boots and shoes, costing £5.96 million, issued to defence personnel were British made. The remainder, comprising comparatively small 301W quantities of boots costing £68,000, were mainly specialist footwear for use in unusual, specific operations.
