Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what was the number of employees in employment in each of the eight counties of Wales, or as near these areas as is conveniently available, in mid-year for each year between 1966, 1971, 1976 and the most recent year available.

Information for 1971 and 1976 for the statistical subdivisions of Wales is given in the attached table. Similar figures before 1971 could only be provided at disproportionate cost. The data for 1977 are expected to be available in the next few weeks.
