§ Mr. Proctorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the expiration of the charter of the Bank of International Settlements in Basle on 23 April 1980, what plans have been made to extend the charter or absorb its present functions into new or existing institutions.
§ Mr. Lawson[pursuant to his reply, 22 April 1980, c. 126]: The constituent charter of the Bank of International Settlements, which was signed at The Hague on 20 January 1930, is unlimited in time and does not therefore expire on 23 April 1980.
