§ The Prime MinisterThe Government's general policy for the future development of the nuclear programme was set out in my right hon. Friend's statement of 18 December. He confirmed in the House yesterday the wish of the generating boards to proceed with the two AGR stations at Heysham and Torness, and also made clear that, in view of the heavy costs of these and other capital projects, the Government have urged the CEGB, the SSEB and the other boards to identify economies wherever possible.
