HC Deb 14 April 1980 vol 982 c507W
Mr. McCusker

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the progress of inquiries into the murders of Private Lundee, Ulster Defence Regiment, Ex-Private Livingston, Ulster Defence Regiment, Private Bateman and Private Walker (Regular Army) killed in County Armagh during the first 12 weeks of the current year; and whether the inquiries indicate that those responsible are living in the Republic of Ireland.

Mr. Humphrey Atkins

The police are strenuously pursuing their inquiries into each of these brutal and cowardly attacks, but it would not be helpful to their efforts for me to indicate how far the investigations have progressed, nor to speculate on the identities and whereabouts of those responsible.
