- (a) Standard grants given under the Industrial Investment (General Assistance) Act (Northern Ireland) 1966;
- (b) Selective assistance (grants and loans) provided under the Industries Development (Northern Ireland) Acts 1966 and 1971;
- (c) Assistance provided by the local enterprise development unit under the Industries Development Act (Northern Ireland) 1971;
- (d) Expenditure on sites and premises under the Industries Development (Northern Ireland) Acts 1966 and 1971.
Assistance to industry in Northern Ireland is on a different statutory basis from the rest of the United Kingdom; a direct comparison between these figures and those for Great Britain would not therefore be valid.
