HC Deb 14 April 1980 vol 982 c454W
Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for Trade, in the light of the report of the Monopolies Commission on London's postal service, whether he has any proposals to amend the law relating to the private carriage by motor-cycle of express letters and packets.

Mr. Michael Marshall

I have been asked to reply.

As my right hon. Friend the Minister for Consumer Affairs indicated at the time the Monopolies and Mergers Commission's report on the London letter post services was published, my right hon. Friend will be taking the Commission's findings into account when reaching decisions in the context of his review of the postal monopoly as a whole.
