§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe total strength of the Audit and Costings Division of MAFF on 1 April 1980 was 164 (1979:456W 162), of which 23 (1979: 21) were engaged on non-audit duties. The remaining 141 (1979: 141), of whom 9 (1979: 6) were members of recognised accounting bodies, were employed on internal audit, on the external examination of the books and records of claimants, and on financial appraisals and advisory activities.
