HC Deb 14 April 1980 vol 982 cc546-7W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make generally available badges which can be worn by deaf persons to identify their handicap for their own benefit.

Mr. Prentice

We have no plans to issue badges to hearing-impaired people. Previous experience of the Royal National Institute for the Deaf with the provision of such badges showed that demand for them was low.
