asked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) what the latest available percentage figures are for the exports of goods to Japan from Great Britain;

(2) what is the latest available percentage figure for the import of goods from Japan to Great Britain.

In 1979 Japan accounted for 1.4 per cent., by value, of the United Kingdom's total exports and 31 per cent. of total imports.
