HC Deb 02 April 1980 vol 982 c277W
Mr. Eastham

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what strategical purchasing policy his Department adopts concerning the purchasing of radar equipment for United Kingdom air traffic control systems.

Mr. Pattie

The purchase of radar equipment for United Kingdom air traffic control systems is primarily a matter for the Department of Trade and the Civil Aviation Authority, but procurement decisions are taken in consultation with MOD because MOD provides nearly a third of the capital costs.
