HC Deb 01 April 1980 vol 982 c192W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether any changes have been made in the plans for road works in the last three years in relation to the site known as Free Derry Corner in Londonderry city; and whether the roads service or the city council has any plans to make the wall on which these words appear a feature of a garden or flower beds.

Mr. Goodhart

The wall bearing the wordsYou are now entering Free Derry is clear of the existing road but is part of a wide area between the carriageway and the second leg of a dual carriageway proposed some years ago by the Londonderry Development Commission. Consideration is being given to completing the dual carriageway but no decision has yet been taken. It is not the intention to incorporate the wall in any feature or garden.
