§ Mr. Charles Irvingasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, in view of the position of fire service and police officers' widows of post-retirement marriages prior to April 1978, who receive no service pension despite the fact that throughout the whole of the officer's service for 30 years or more he has contributed to a pension fund in order to provide a pension for himself or, on his demise, for his widow, if he will seek to 462W amend the fire service and police pension Acts so as to provide for the payment of widows' pensions in such cases.
