§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will set up a monitoring scheme for retinitis pigmentosa patients who have received treatment in Switzerland and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
§ Dr. VaughanTreatments abroad of retinitis pigmentosa are arranged privately and without reference to the Department and such treatment cannot therefore be systematically monitored. Our medical advisers are seeking, where possible and subject to the patients' consent, to obtain reports from the consultant ophthalmologists responsible for such patients in this country under the National Health Service.
