§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what discussions he has had with Derbyshire county council regarding the road B6042 which passes Creswell Crags; and whether he will ensure that the historic site of Creswell Crags is reopened to all the public at the earliest opportunity.
§ Mr. MonroThe B6042 has had to be closed because of the danger from rocks falling from the Crags. The only solution would seem to be to realign the road. Earlier this year, the East Midlands regional director of the Departments of the Environment and Transport discussed with the county council, whose 321W responsibility the road is, ways of financing this work. No source of funds has yet been discovered
