§ Mr. Shoreasked the Prime Minister whether it is proposed that gifts should be presented to the Government and to the House of Assembly of St. Vincent to mark the attainment of independence on 27 October, when the country will be known as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
§ The Prime MinisterThe House will, I feel sure, wish to send congratulations to St. Vincent on its impending independence, along with best wishes for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the Islands. Her Majesty's Government will propose that this House should offer a gift of a parliamentary character to the House of Assembly. Her Majesty's Government for their part will also offer a suitable gift to the Government of St. Vincent to mark the occasion.
