§ Dr. VaughanAt 30 September 1978, the latest date for which such information is available, there was an establishment—in whole-time equivalents—of 2,545.2 senior registrar posts in England and Wales. I regret that information on the second part of the question is not collected centrally. However, the distribution of senior registrar posts between regions is given in the regional whole-time equivalent tables for hospital medical staff in England and Wales at 30 September 1978, a copy of which is in the Library.
