§ 20. Mr. David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has any plans to split up the Strathclyde region into more manageable and more coherent units of local government in the course of his review of local government.
§ Mr. RifkindI hope to announce soon the terms of reference and membership of the review committee promised in the Conservative manifesto for Scotland. I cannot anticipate the recommendations of the committee, but the manifesto said that we do not believe there is a need for further full-scale reorganisation.
