§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe Government are naturally concerned at the immediate problems of the hill farming sector and we have demonstrated our concern by the increases in hill livestock compensatory allowances we announced on 22 November. We believe that hill livestock farming has a vital role to play in the future of the United Kingdom agriculture industry and we believe that its long-term prospects are good.
