HC Deb 28 November 1979 vol 974 c704W
62. Miss Boothroyd

asked the Lord Privy Seal how much of the previously planned spending in support of population activities has been cancelled or postponed as a result of the £50 million cut in development aid expenditure.

Mr. Ridley

Seven proposed population projects have been abandoned. Their cost to the aid programme would have totalled about £3.4 million over a five-year period. No aid funds had been firmly committed for any of these projects at the time of their abandonment.
