asked the Minister for the Civil Service whether the Government contemplate any changes in the financial arrangements for Her Majesty's Stationery Office.

Following the views expressed by the Public Accounts Committee in 1978 and the Expenditure Committee in 1977, the Government have decided that, subject to the approval of Parliament, Her Majesty's Stationery Office will be financed by means of a trading fund with effect from 1 April 1980.

This decision continues the steps which have been taken in recent years to place the operations of the Department on a more commercial basis.
