Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will circulate in the Official Report a table showing for each year since 1970 and 1979 to date (a) the amount of money borrowed for house purchase, (b) the amount of other consumer credit, (c) bank advances to manufacturing industry and (d) bank advances to, respectively, the engineering, textile and chemical industries, together with in each case the percentage increase in each period.
