§ Mr. Gryllsasked the Secretary of State for Trade what proportion of the purchasing contracts issued by his Department in 1978–79 were by means of (a) selective tender, (b) open tender and (c) single tender.
§ Mr. Eyre[pursuant to his reply, 9 November 1979, c. 366]: The proportion of purchasing contracts issued by my Department in 1978–79, including contracts issued by the former Department of Prices and Consumer Protection, were, by value:
a Selective tender 85 per cent. b Open tender 1 per cent. c Single tender 14 per cent. These proportions reflect the somewhat specialised character of much of the Department's purchasing.
