HL Deb 20 November 1979 vol 403 c102WA
Lord KENNET

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the arrangements for the co-ordination of Government maritime policy, at both ministerial and official level, are still the same as they were under the last Government, and if not, how they have been changed.

Lord TREFGARNE

The Department of Trade has the lead role in co-ordinating policy on maritime matters, although other departments, for example the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Energy and the fisheries departments have the primary role in some specific fields.
