§ 24. Mr. Woolmerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he has received any recent communication from the Kirklees metropolitan district council regarding its intention to proceed with the reorganisation of its secondary schools on a comprehensive basis.
§ Dr. BoysonOn 20 July 1979 the Kirklees metropolitan district council submitted proposals to my right hon. and learned Friend and on 13 September 1979 it published notices, in accordance with section 13 of the Education Act 1944, of its intention to reorganise secondary education in Batley, Heckmondwike and Liversedge on comprehensive lines.
