HC Deb 19 November 1979 vol 974 cc45-6W
Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what funds have been paid to the Union Place resource centre, Lambeth, under the inner city partnership scheme; what funds have been promised to it in the future; for what purpose this money is made available; and what checks will be made to ensure that the money is spent according to the objectives of the scheme.

Mr. King

Several projects in the Lambeth inner city partnership programme are based on the Union Place resource centre. They include staff to operate the printing and other facilities, an outreach worker, and a photography project. The total allocations to schemes run from the centre agreed by the previous Government were £10,000 for 1978–79 and £50,000 for 1979–80.

Not all the expenditure under these allocations is necessarily related to the centre. The Lambeth partnership programme for 1980–81 and future years has not yet been settled; but any proposed projects based on the centre will be closely scrutinised.
