Mr. Ernie Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the organisation and individuals who made objections to the Local Government Boundary Commission regarding the proposed new boundaries for Tayside regional council elections.

The report on the Tayside region which the Commission submitted to the Secretary of State on 16 September 1977 indicates that the Commission considered objections made to it by:

  • Angus district council
  • Perth and Kinross district council
  • Glenfarg community council
  • Councillor John Kidd
  • Mr. D. Maclean
  • Whitfield community council
  • Craigiebank and district community council
  • Craigie club for retired persons
  • Downfield and district community council
  • Dundee Labour Party
  • The Communist Party
  • Councillor Welsh
  • Councillor McAuley, and
  • Councillor Christie.
