asked the hon. Member for Carlton (Mr. Holland), as Chairman of the Committee of Selection, if he will give the criteria used by his Committee in the selection of honourable Members to serve on Select Committees.

No. This would not be desirable. The Committee does not, however, at present propose to nominate members of the Government, Parliamentary Private Secretaries, and regular Opposition Front Bench spokesmen.
