§ Mr. RaisonChanges in the number of fiancées admitted from India and Pakistan are monitored regularly and the reasons for them are assessed to the extent that is practicable. There is considerable quarter-to-quarter variability in the numbers so admitted. Reliable projection of future patterns of entry of fiancées cannot be made because they can be effected by so many continuously changing factors.
