HC Deb 19 November 1979 vol 974 cc81-2W
48. Mr. Gummer

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much English wine was exported last year; and what plans he has to encourage the development of the trade.

Mr. Wiggin

Figures for exports of English wine are not shown separately from wine exports generally. The majority of English wine, of which annual production is between 1,000 and 2,000 hectolitres, is however consumed within the

Wales. They are in close liaison with the Royal Ulster Constabulary, which is investigating the events at Carrickmore on 17 October.

A copy of all the film shot has been obtained by the Metropolitan Police and has been examined by its officers and the Director of Public Prosecutions for England and Wales. Arrangements have been made for officers of the Royal Ulster Constabulary to view it very soon. The police investigations are continuing simultaneously in Northern Ireland and in England.
