asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of the finance of the Development Board for Rural Wales for 1976–77, 1977–78 and 1978–79, respectively, has been expended in Newtown as part of the on-going Mid-Wales Corporation's committed expenditure; and how much was spent in the rest of the Board's area for the same period.

The Development Board for Rural Wales assumed the responsibilities in Newtown, formerly undertaken by the Mid-Wales Development Corporation, on 1 April 1977.

The following table shows the distribution of public expenditure in respect of the operations of the Development Board for Rural Wales in 1977–78 and 1978–79, in Newtown and the rest of the Board's area at constant prices.
