§ Mr. Spearingasked the Lord Privy Seal what changes he expects to make in the allocation of funds for books and periodicals for British Council libraries in India consequent on his review of overseas expenditure.
§ Mr. BlakerIn the current financial year the British Council's allocation of funds for books and periodicals in Council libraries in India is £175,270 and £42,280 respectively. As part of the reduction in its expenditures in 1980–81 the British Council intends to reduce these allocations to £111,440 and £26,480 respectively.
