§ Mr. LawsonUnpresented old white notes of these denominations are written off in the books of the Bank of England 40 years after their date of issue in accordance with the provisions of the Bank Act 1892. The numbers of such notes still outstanding in the books of the Bank are: £10 notes 4,740, £20 notes 119, £50 notes 1,018, £100 notes 1,074, £500 notes nil and £1,000 notes 16.
