§ Mr. FowlerMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales and I have just set up a working party to look at the potential need for a further crossing of the Severn. I understand that studies on the feasibility of a Severn barrage are 781W still at an early stage. A major study of a combined barrage and road crossing would therefore be premature at the moment.
