(2) what are the criteria Her Majesty's Government apply to foreign countries in considering whether or not it is appropriate for the United Kingdom to be represented at the level of ambassador.
§ Mr. HurdThere are no set criteria for the appointment of an ambassador, but the question does not of course arise until a Government have met our usual criteria for recognition.
§ Sir Frederic Bennettasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will list those countries whose Governments Her Majesty's Government recognise, but where the United Kingdom is not represented at ambassadorial level.
§ Mr. HurdHer Majesty's Government recognise the Governments of Argentina, Bhutan, Chile, Guatemala and Kampuchea but are not represented at ambassadorial level, either resident or non-resident.
