Mr. Newensasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his plans for the disposal of assets currently owned by new town corporations and the New Towns Commission; and if he will indicate any provisions that he intends to make for the control of residual assets which remain unsold.
§ Mr. StanleyThe new town development corporations and the Commission for the New Towns are selling commercial and industrial assets in this financial year as part of the Government's disposal programme. The question of subsequent disposals and the future of any residual commercial and industrial assets is under consideration.
