§ Mr. Leightonasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether, following the representations which the EEC Comission has made to the United States of America about the advantage its industry enjoys as a result of lower oil prices, he will press for the imposition of countervailing duties on imports from the United States of America to offset the advantage which it enjoys as a result of lower food prices.
§ Mr. ParkinsonWe, together with other member States, are pressing the European Commission to find an early solution to this problem. The imposition of countervailing duties is one of a number of possibilities that are being considered.
