§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe aim of the Government's overall strategy is to secure the conditions in which the444W economy can flourish and new employment opportunities be created in Deeside and North-East Wales as elsewhere. The Government have recognised that the decision by the British Steel Corporation to end steelmaking at Shotton will create particular difficulties for Deeside and I will shortly announce what measures the Government propose to assist the area.
