§ Mr. Banksasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what studies have been undertaken to show the running cost savings in fuel for heating class-rooms in older schools after insulation measures have been carried out.
§ Dr. BoysonMy Department, in co-operation with the Oxfordshire education authority, Oxford polytechnic and the Rutherford laboratory, has evaluated a range of energy conservation measures applied during 1976–77 to two Oxfordshire secondary schools, and published the results in Design Note 16, "Energy Conservation in Two Oxfordshire Schools". A number of local education authorities have carried out their own studies of the cost-effectiveness of applying energy conservation measures.
