HC Deb 12 November 1979 vol 973 c387W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Lord Advocate whether any of his departmental files have been released to the Public Record Office since 1 January; and, if so, if he will list them in the Official Report by piece reference number and title.

The Solicitor-General for Scotland

Since 1 January 1979 362 boxes of records, containing High Court cases from 1931 to 1952 (inclusive), stated cases 1950 to 1959 (inclusive) and opinions 1940 to 1960 (inclusive) have been sent from Crown Office to the Scottish Record Office. This amounts to 244 feet of records. A summary of these records will appear in the annual report of the Keeper of the Records of Scotland. Crown Office files are not made available to the public by the Scottish Record Office until the expiry of 75 years from the date of the last item which appears on them.

My noble Friend's other Departments have not released any records this year.
