§ Mr. David Steelasked the Secetary of State for Scotland whether he has any plans to reduce the number and complexity of building regulations, especially in their application to rural areas.
§ Mr. RifkindThe Building Standards (Scotland) Regulations are under continuing review and a set of consolidated 469W regulations with amendments is being prepared. These will reduce the complexity of the present controls on day-lighting. Consideration will be given to further simplification consistent with the maintenance of adequate standards of construction, health and safety.
