§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for Trade what sum is still outstanding on debts by Chile to the Export Credits Guarantee Department; and what action Her Majesty's Government plan to take to recover this sum.
§ Mr. ParkinsonAbout £13 million of the £50 million claims paid by ECGD in respect of Chilean defaults is still outstanding. All the amount outstanding relates to debts originally falling due between 1972 and 1974 and is covered by rescheduling agreements entered into by Her Majesty's Government and the 367W Government of Chile at that time. Repayment is being made promptly in accordance with the agreements.
